As the industry’s first Secure Internet Gateway in the cloud, Cisco Umbrella provides the first line of defense against threats on the internet. Because Umbrella is delivered from the cloud, it is the easiest way to protect all of your users in minutes. As a cloud-delivered service, Umbrella protects any device, no matter where it’s located, in real-time. The console gives you visibility with beautiful, actionable reports in a single pane of glass. And it makes it simple to efficiently manage your client organizations in groups.
Threats continue to increase in sophistication but attackers often reuse the same infrastructure in multiple attacks — leaving cyber fingerprints. What if you could use those fingerprints to uncover attacks before they launch? Your users connect from many locations and devices. They no longer need the VPN to get work done — they use cloud services. What if you had a fast, easy way to protect users anywhere they access the internet?
Proactively enforce policies to prevent users from visiting malicious places on the Web, with no hardware to install and no software to maintain
Get a complete picture of real-time Internet activity for on-network and roaming devices, with reports on security, usage, compliance, and cloud services.
Your time is valuable. Umbrella makes it fast and easy to identify if a client has abnormal botnet traffic, malware blocks, or content filtering blocks. It proactively enforces your policies and gives you quick access and full visibility into your entire client base.
Manage flexible, location-aware policies with Umbrella’s 60 content categories and an unlimited number of custom block or allow lists. Laptops can be assigned policies with different Internet access restrictions and logging settings based on whether they’re on or off your network.
Enforce protection and policy compliance for laptops that leave the network, so you can enforce security anywhere with no added latency.
Reports that shows all your devices together and provides you with visibility into Internet activity from LAN, WLAN networks, mobile devices and roaming laptops. Then you have the option to drill down for more detail.
Centralized settings provide a simple and powerful way for you to create and manage settings that are shared among multiple groups. It makes it simple to manage settings in bulk, so you implement changes once instead of repeating the same task for each group.
Identify individual devices for visibility into more granular details. By integrating with your Active Directory environment and securely forwarding DNS queries to the Global Network, you can enforce and report on users, computers and groups.
Umbrella goes beyond DNS to prevent data exfiltration over any port or protocol, initiated via DNS requests or direct IP connections, originating on or off the office network. The reason for blocking more than just domains is that some threats use hardcoded IP addresses to establish direct connections, bypassing the need for DNS resolution.
Our proxy inspects files attempted to be downloaded from those risky sites using an anti-virus (AV) engine and Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP). And, based on the outcome of this inspection, the connection is allowed or blocked. AMP analyzes more than 1.5 million malware samples daily, providing a massive repository in the cloud for Umbrella to check against. This feature is provided as part of the Advanced package.
Custom URL blocking gives you the ability to enforce against malicious URLs in a destination list. This gives the flexibility to block specific pages without blocking entire domains. Similar to file inspection, this is a feature of our intelligent proxy. If Umbrella receives a request for a URL that is on a block list, it is routed to our proxy and blocked.
